Thank you for your interest in the highland dance competition at the 2012 Smoky Mountain Highland Games! For those who participated in our 2011 competition, our many thanks and welcome back. For dancers new to the Smoky Mountain Highland Games, we look forward to having you with us and dancing with the Smoky Mountains just over your shoulder. Dancers add so much to the games; we’re trying our best to make this a good competition experience.
We are very pleased to announce the addition of several scholarships to be awarded this year. SEFUSTA is awarding three $25.00 scholarships for Beginner, Novice and Intermediate divisions to be awarded according to the Judge’s choice. Yay!!! No forms for you to fill out!
A scholarship of $250.00 sponsored by the Smoky Mountain Highland Games will be awarded, to be used towards additional instruction in highland dance through a school, teacher or camp. Details for this scholarship can be found under the SCHOLARSHIP tab on the games website.
On the subject of weather… In case of extremely stormy weather, we have a very convenient back up location at the Alumni Gym. So, come rain or shine, as seasoned competitors know, the competition will go on! We’ve been promised an industrial fan to help cool off if we have our usual ‘summery’ temperatures.
