Guest Accessibility

The Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, including those with special needs requiring reasonable accommodations. The following information may be helpful in planning a visit. Keep in mind that the Games event is located outdoors on various surfaces and terrain.

Accessible Parking: Two parking areas near entrances are available with one reserved for those with state issued placards or license plates. Guides at campus entrances can direct guests to these lots.

Personal Powered Wheel Chairs: Guests with these devices are welcome but should keep in mind that the festival terrain is uneven and often crowded, and powered wheel chairs must operate safely for the rider and others. In the event of rain, the venue grounds may become too soft for these devices to safely operate, and alternative options may be available.
For the safety of all guests, the following devices are not permitted: personal golf carts, dual-seat ECVs, ECV bicycles, electric scooters.

Courtesy Carts: Carts move throughout the parking area to transport guests to the Admission Gate. Transportation is also provided by carts on a set route throughout the Games venue to clan, vendor, and entertainment sites. However, the number of carts is limited and wait times may be necessary.

Accessible seating: Aisle seating is available in the entertainment tents to accommodate wheel chairs.

Accessible Toilets: Accessible portable toilets are located throughout the Games venue.

Hearing Impairment: With a notice of at least 14 days, guests may request an American Sign Language interpreter.

First Aid and Guest Services: Contact any Games Volunteer to request immediate assistance.
